President's Message

Sunday, March 29, 2020 By: Cremona, Hope ACP, FRP

As I serve our organization as Chapter President, I realize what an honor it is to be a part of this esteemed organization and, I’m humbled. Thank you for the honor of allowing me to serve as your President.

Some of the goals I have for this term as President is to see our organization grow in the number of members. Provide support and encourage to our student members. Provide fun and educational networking events that will increase our knowledge of the legal field. All with the goal of inspiring professional growth …one paralegal at a time. ®

This year coming up will be an exciting year. I can’t wait to get this year in full swing! I’m excited for what’s in store for our Chapter, and I hope you all are too!

Hope Cremona , President

Dear Members,

As this year comes to an end and a new decade is before us, I’ve been thinking a lot about all the things that have happened during the past ten years in my life. I’ve thought about the good and the bad and everything in between, and I’ve determined that the most impactful decisions I made, other than getting married to the most wonderful man in the world, was to obtain my paralegal degree and join the Paralegal Association of Florida. These decisions have completely transformed my life in ways I never could have imagined.

The decision to become a paralegal opened my mind to a world that I didn’t realize I would love so much. I wake up each morning motivated to learn as much as I can and strive to be the best I can be. At this time in my life there’s nothing else I would rather be doing. Well, it would be nice to be able to sit on a sandy beach somewhere with my toes in the sand without a care in the world, but that day will come in its own time. The decision to join the Paralegal Association of Florida has done so much for me. It has forced me to break out of my shell and become more involved with the legal world around me. I have learned so much about the legal field, as well as the Association and how it works. I am so proud of the people who are involved and the time they dedicate to provide us with the tools and resources we need to be successful.

When I decided to run for President of our Chapter, I wasn’t sure if I was ready to make that step. I probably wasn’t, but with the help of other members, I was able to learn the ropes and became a voice for our Chapter, as all Presidents are expected to be. I tend to be shy and don’t always speak my mind, but over the past 2 ½ years, I have learned to be more open and to speak up when necessary, among many other things. My experience on the Board of our Chapter has helped me grow in so many ways and I am forever grateful for everyone’s support.

Now that my time is up, I am so excited to be able to turn over the position of President to the next in line, Hope Cremona. Hope is an amazing paralegal, a wonderful mother and wife, and an inspirational leader that will bring many great things to not only our Chapter, but the Association as a whole. I look forward to seeing what she will accomplish, and I wish her and all the new Board members the best in the new year to come. I hope all of you had a Merry Christmas and have a safe and Happy New Year! See you next year!!

Karen Wortman,
Chapter President
